Bouygues construction develops green concrete with its partner Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies

Both companies signed a contract to create a concrete with a carbon footprint between 70% and 80% lower than a conventional Portland cement.

They will work on the technical and commercial project for an initial period of 30 months, focusing on the H-EVA1 concrete developed by Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies.

According to studies carried out, the product can be certified for operational implementation at the Bouygues construction sites in 2020.

Philippe Bonnave, president of Bouygues Construction said, “As a leader in the construction sector, Bouygues Construction must face the challenges of increasing urbanization while reducing its environmental impact. The partnership we have signed with Hoffman Green Cement Technologies is an opportunity to jointly develop an innovation for our sector that is harmful, since it emits less CO2 and acts to make construction more sustainable for our customers.”

He went on to say “This partnership is a perfect example of Bouygues Construction’s desire to tackle disruptive innovations like ours, with the aim of the construction sector committing itself in a sustainable and immediate way to a drastic reduction in CO2 emissions. ”

In view of the climate emergency, the association is a strategic alliance, whose results will contribute to making the construction sector more sustainable, considering the fact that cement currently represents 6% of greenhouse gas emissions only in France .

Julien Blanchard, president of Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies, said “The construction industry today has to change quickly in the face of climate problems and the arrival of new regulations. To face these challenges, we have created new cements that are undoubtedly Clinker-free and based on industrial by-products. Our industrial approach to cement is a genuinely responsible and revolutionary solution to the construction market.
